Works update – 7 July 2026
After weeks of wet weather, Council’s grading crews are ready to make the most of any break in the weather as they work to restore roads affected by the ongoing conditions.
Crews will be working on Collins Creek Road, Peacock Creek Road and Bulmers Road this week providing the rain stays away.
Similarly, roadside slashing crews will be working on Ettrick Road and Cawongla Range before moving on to Wiangaree Back Road and Clarence Way between Sandilands and Bonalbo.
Rehabilitation of Lindsay Creek Road is continuing and Council is patching potholes in village streets at Bonalbo. A kerb and gutter project in Koorelah Street, Bonalbo is getting close to being finished.
In more good news, the last of the Lions Road landslips caused by the 2022 floods has been repaired. Council is waiting on disaster funding to repair a further three landslides caused by flooding in 2025.
Work is continuing on other flood damage repairs, including:

- Landslip Iron Pot Creek Road – Council is monitoring the slip daily.
- Landslip remediation on Forest Road – repairs are completed.
- Landslip remediation on Horseshoe Creek Road – start of work delayed due to inclement weather, with work likely to start in July, weather permitting.
- Landslip remediation on Hillyards Road – work is progressing and should be completed this week, depending on the weather.
- Landslip remediation Baileys Bridge Road – preliminary works have started.
- Landslip remediation Gradys Creek Road – work to prepare the slope and construct the piling pad is continuing.
The new Montgomerys Bridge is about to meet another key milestone, with girders set to be installed on the bridge’s third and final span this week. Once that is completed, construction of the concrete deck insitu will begin.
Pilings for the new Clarkes Lane footbridge are all in place, with crews now working on the headstocks.
Meanwhile, Council, on behalf of Transport for NSW, has resumed heavy patching works on the Summerland Way at Unumgar (delayed due to the ongoing wet weather) and is replacing a culvert on the Bruxner Highway.
