As the wet weather continues, Council’s road crews remain ready to get to work whenever conditions allow, despite a challenging few months of stop-start operations.

This week, crews will undertake repairs on Williams Road, Ryans Creek Road and Collins Creek Road. Roadside slashing crews will be working along Findon Creek Road before moving to Gradys Creek Road and west of the range on Clarence Way.

Rehabilitation works on Lindsay Creek Road are continuing, while pothole patching is underway in Bonalbo village and along Bentley Road and Kyogle Road.

Heavy rainfall and saturated ground conditions have caused significant damage to the heavy vehicle rail underpass on Gradys Creek Road near Murrays Bridge. As a result, the underpass road remains closed while Council undertakes a detailed assessment and completes the necessary repairs. During this closure, vehicles exceeding 3.5 metres in height will be unable to pass through this section of the road. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

Meanwhile, Council continues to progress a range of flood damage repair projects across the network:

  • Gradys Creek Road: Road repairs, including stabilisation and sealing works are progressing.
  • Iron Pot Creek Road: Council is monitoring the landslip daily.
  • Horseshoe Creek Road: Landslip remediation works have been delayed by ongoing wet weather and are expected to commence when conditions permit.
  • Baileys Bridge Road: Preliminary landslip remediation works are underway, with a detour currently in place.
  • Gradys Creek Road (landslip): Work to prepare the slope and construct the piling pad is continuing.

At Montgomerys Bridge, crews are continuing construction of the steel bridge deck, marking another key milestone in the project.

In town, work is also progressing well on the Clarkes Lane Footbridge. The working slab for the western abutment has been completed, and crews are now preparing the crane pad for the upcoming girder lift. Installation of steel reinforcement and formwork for the western abutment will also commence this week.

On behalf of Transport for NSW, Council will also undertake heavy patching, line marking and roadside slashing along Summerland Way, while road reconstruction works continue on the Bruxner Highway.
