Road Network Management System
The Kyogle Council Road Network Management System and associated policies and procedures covers all maintenance and capital works on roads and road related infrastructure within the road reserves under the care and control of Council.
In February 2005 Council adopted the Kyogle Council Road Network Management System. This system and associated policies and procedures covers all maintenance and capital works on roads and road related infrastructure within the road reserves under the care and control of Council. In adopting this system Council recognised that, due to the wide range of activities required to be funded by Council, and the limited funding available to meet all demands, Council is unable to allocate sufficient funds to allow maintenance of its Road Network to the level of service desired by the general community. In order to minimise the potential hazards to road users, Council has developed a risk management approach to maintenance of Council’s road network.
Councils document titled Kyogle Council Road Network Management Plan details the procedures for identifying the location, nature, inspection frequency, treatment options and repair priorities of potential hazards to users of the Road Network. The implementation of this management plan aims to minimise public liability exposure and provide a best value service to the community in relation to provision of road infrastructure services.
