Spatial Information Exchange

The NSW Spatial Digital Twin (SDT) Map Viewer

In May 2025, NSW Spatial Services launched a new map viewer to replace SIX Maps. The NSW Spatial Digital Twin (SDT) Explorer is a free spatial visualisation platform designed to provide quick and efficient tools for visualising, validating, and interacting with spatial data.

SDT Explorer integrates features from both SIX Maps and the NSW Digital Twin Visualisation Service, offering new tools and capabilities. With a user-friendly interface and enough functionality to support workflows, it empowers users to explore spatial data, validate findings, and communicate insights more effectively.

The link to the viewer is here.

The Explorer can be used to view cadastral details for any parcel of Torrens-title land in the LGA.

Typically this is any parcel’s lot and plan number, approximate spatial boundaries and the property address.

Adding a capacity beyond that of Six Maps viewers are able to ‘load’ extra mapping layers from a browsable catalogue of layers that will be expanded in coming months and years.

Eg: in the clip below the current ‘Roads’ layer (rendered in green) has been added to the viewer.

Eventually the SDT Explorer is likely to replace the series of ‘Viewers’ traditionally accessed via the Spatial Collaboration Portal.

The NSW Spatial Collaboration Portal

The Spatial Collaboration Portal remains as a useful resource, notably with its link to Topographic map pdfs and tiffs.

GIS datasets in the catalogue are listed here
