Roads, bridges and places are given names to assist in identification of a property or location. Official names must be registered with the New South Wales Geographical Names Board.
Council has adopted a list of suggested words for use when naming roads, bridges, and other Council assets. The list covers names from the Honour Roll, local Aboriginal words, and local animal, tree, and bird species. You can access the list of words here
Council consults with local community and the Geographic Names Board when considering a naming request.
