Works update – 16 December 2022

The upgrade of the Bruxner Highway at Mallanganee Range has been completed. The construction crew will move to the western side of the range to start another major project on the Bruxner Highway in February.

The rehabilitation of the Clarence Way at Sandilands will be finished next week. The first section of the road was sealed this week, with bitumen to be laid on the second and final section mid next week. This crew will then move to work on the Clarence Way north of Bonalbo near the cemetery.

The upgrade of Dyraaba Road is on schedule to be completed in January.

Due to contractor availability, the crew working on Bingeebeebra Creek Road has had to pause that job and will be completing emergency patch ups on Theresa Creek and Edenville roads next week. Work on the Bingeebeebra Creek Road job will resume in the new year.

The first section of the Clarence Way between Woodenbong and Urbenville to be remediated will be sealed next week. Some sections will be left unsealed over the break, but the crew will be back on the job early in the new year.

Landslip repairs have been completed on Dyraaba and Kyogle roads and are continuing on Oxbow, Wender, and Afterlee roads and four sites on Tabulam Road. Interim works at Geneva Bridge are on target to be completed before the Christmas break.

The new Olesons Bridge on Collins Creek Road will be open to traffic next week, while work continues on Capeen Creek Bridges numbers 1 and 2, and the new bridges on Levers Road, Tunglebung Creek, Pines and Iron Pot Creek roads.

Flood damage drainage repairs are continuing on Horseshoe Creek, Askews Dip, Tunglebung, Eden Creek, Ferndale, Pines, James, Gooley, Old Lawrence, and Hillyards roads. The crews will move to Yongurra, Bairds, Duck Creek, Capeen Creek, O’Donnell, Edenville, and Butlers roads.

Grading crews are working to repair flood damage on Joes Box, Yabbra, Brindle Creek, Proctors, and Theresa Creek roads. The next roads to be targeted will be Tree Fern, Eggins, Slaughter Gully, and Davis roads.

Seale road flood damage repairs also have started on Collins Creek Road.

Potholes are being patched on Clarence Way with an extra crew starting next week focusing on Yabbra Scrub. The pothole crews have completed jobs on Bentley and Gradys Creek roads and are currently working on Kyogle Road.
