This event is part of the Upper Richmond River Fest and will be held on 24 May.
The morning session will be held at the Kyogle Community Centre (formerly the Seniors Centre), with the afternoon session to involve a field trip to Cedar Point.
Participants will be able to explore the cultural values of wetlands with Uncle Andrew Johnston, while Katrina Curran of the Australian Wetland Consultancy will discuss:
- The ecological values of wetlands
- The relationship between wetlands and river health
- Managing wetlands in a pastural context
- What is involved in re-instating / constructing wetlands –including examples
- Wetland plants – native species and managing invasive species
Prior registrations is required. Light morning tea and lunch provided. Bring long pants, sturdy shoes, water bottle, jacket / umbrella in case, and a hat.
