Composting is a fun and easy way to recycle your food and garden waste at home. Composting has so many environmental, social and economic benefits that everyone in the family can take part in.

North East (NE) Waste, Kyogle Council and The Richmond Upper Clarence Regional Library have joined forces to host two Compost Workshops during International Compost Awareness Week.

NE Waste will conduct the workshops at the library on Thursday, 5 May 2022. Compost expert, Nicki Walker, will bring The Green House for a fun composting workshop suitable for the whole family. Nicki will demonstrate easy composting techniques, showcase DIY compost containers, advise on the range of materials that can be composted, trouble-shoot with participants, and offer advice on how to use compost in your home garden.

This free one-hour workshop, is the perfect way to get your compost heap started; healthy and happy in every kind of home environment. Pencil in the date and let all your friends, family and neighbours know.

There are currently two 1-hour sessions available at 11am and 1pm but space is limited. Bookings are essential and can be made in person at the Kyogle library or by phoning them on (02) 6632 1134.  Kyogle library can also be contracted for further details. Just make sure to book by Tuesday, 3 May.
