The NSW Government will also pay the 2022-23 Council rates for flood affected residential, commercial and farm ratepayers.
Ratepayers whose main premises has been assessed as damaged by the SES in the initial damage assessment or who have made a successful claim for support for equivalent damage through Service NSW are automatically eligible.
The funding will be provided through Service NSW and rates payments will be made directly to council on ratpayers’ behalf.
Service NSW will administer the program and eligible ratepayers will receive the relief automatically and do not have to contact Council to apply. Correspondence will come from the NSW Government in the coming weeks to confirm eligibility.
Those who believe they are eligible and do not receive relief should apply to the Flood Property Assessment Program administered by Service NSW at https://www.nsw.gov.au/floods/financial-support/property-assessment-faqs
For further information about the rates relief program, follow this link to the Service NSW website or call Service NSW on 13 77 88.
Eligible ratepayers will not need to take any action. Please note the relief will cover rates only and will not cover waste, sewer or water charges.
