Kyogle workshop to help develop Northern Rivers Regional Development Strategy

Business people and members of the community are invited to attend a workshop in Kyogle on Thursday 9 November to assist with the development of the Northern Rivers Regional Economic Development Strategy.

The strategy is being developed so that the Northern Rivers can claim its share of the NSW Government’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund set up under the Restart NSW program to support growing regional centres, activate local economies and improve services in communities.

The workshop will be held in the Kyogle Memorial Institute Supper Room from 5.30-7.30pm and will be conducted by Corview, a consulting firm engaged by the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet to prepare the strategy.

In order to satisfy the Restart NSW funding criteria, the strategy will need to:

1. Identify local economic strengths and needs and what can be done to address these

2. Align investment opportunities with the Regional Growth Fund

3. Take a regional approach to collaboration where possible
