Kyogle roads update – 16 May 2022
Council was forced to close Forest Road on Friday due to a landslip. Council is assessing the landslip, in the meantime Forest Road will join Lions Road, Geneva Street and Baileys Bridge Road on the closure list.
The Lions Road landslip deteriorated further at the weekend, however Council still working towards re-opening the road by the end of the month.
Council is currently working on a causeway and some drainage issues on Horseshoe Creek Road. Council also is fixing a spring on Imesons Road, and repairing post flood drainage issues on Station Road today.
Council intends to cut a track around the landslip on Wender Road this week to ensure residents have reliable access.
Emergency repairs on the ‘sink hole’ on Simpkins Creek Road were completed at the weekend. This is an ongoing concern to Council and Council will continue to monitor the site.
Council is patching potholes today on Clarence Way, Kyogle Road, Fawcetts Plain Road and Cawongla Road. Pothole patching will continue on Clarence Way throughout the week. Other roads to be targeted this week will include Wiangaree Back Road, Findon Creek Road, and Omagh Road.
Council attempted to restart the Sandilands repair project on Clarence Way, however saturated ground conditions have forced work crews to relocate to Hootons Road. Council work crews will return to the Clarence Way project once the Hootons Road project is complete. Fingers crossed that ground conditions will have improved by then.
