SUMMARY:Become an on-call fire fighter - Information Evening\, Kyogle
DESCRIPTION:Fire and Rescue NSW is looking to recruit on-call firefighters for Kyogle. \nKyogle Fire Station attends around 70 incidents each year\, helping the community through a wide range of emergencies. While most people think of firefighters attending house and bush fires\, the role is much broader and can include motor vehicle accidents\, hazardous material incidents\, rescue operations\, community safety activities and medical first response incidents. \nBeing an on-call firefighter is a unique opportunity to serve your community while continuing with your primary job and family commitments. Firefighters receive nationally recognised training\, ongoing support and are paid for incidents\, training and other station activities. \nIf you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be a firefighter\, or if you know someone who may be interested\, you are invited to come along and learn more at an information evening at the Kyogle Fire Station on Wednesday\, 8 July from 6pm. \nThis is a relaxed\, no-obligation information session where people can meet local firefighters\, see the station and appliances\, ask questions\, and learn more about the role. \nTo become an on-call firefighter\, you generally need to: \n\nLive or work within a reasonable distance of the station\nHold a current driver’s licence\nBe willing to learn new skills\nHave a genuine desire to help your community

SUMMARY:2030 Railway Centenary - A community conversation starter
DESCRIPTION:One hundred years ago work started on a vision.  A vision linking Queensland and NSW with a single gauge railway line. \nIn 1930 that vision was realised. \nWith the centenary year looming\, work is starting with a community conversation around what the 2030 celebrations could look like. \nIt will explore the possibilities and the opportunities of what this milestone year could look like for Kyogle\, the region\, the state\, and our nation. \nYou are invited to join in the community conversation starter being held on Thursday\, 9 July 2026 from 12.30pm at the Kyogle Memorial Institute Banquet Room. \nYou are asked to bring your ideas and be brave\, bold\, and ambitious. \nIt is envisaged that following this community forum a 2030 Railway Centenary Coordinating Group will be established to lead and plan the celebrations. \nFor more information contact Brett McNamara\, Kyogle Museum\, on 0417 292 885.
