SUMMARY:Woodenbong celebrates Australia Day
DESCRIPTION:Australia Day celebrations at Woodenbong will begin bright and early with billy tea and damper from 8.30am at the Woodenbong Hall. \nA flag raising ceremony will be held at 10am\, followed by the official proceedings. \nThe Australia Day ambassador and 2020 NSW Young Woman of the Year finalist Julia Weber will deliver the Australia Day address. \nMs Weber has long dedicated herself to contributing to the community\, publishing a self-help book for teenage girls when she was just 14\, campaigning against bullying through her high school years and becoming a financial literacy ambassador at university. \nShe is the treasurer for Animal Therapies Limited\, a not for profit organisation connecting those in need with animal assisted services to help prevent or manage disability\, illness and suffering. \nMs Weber’s quest to improve the financial outcomes for all young Australians has led to her writing a financial literacy course that she has delivered in high schools right across the Hunter. \nAfter the official ceremony\, there will a free lunch\, then it’s down to the Woodenbong recreation ground for the annual city versus country cricket match. \nAnd for those who would rather celebrate Australia Day with a swim\, entry to the Woodenbong pool will be free on the day

SUMMARY:Bonalbo celebrates Australia Day
DESCRIPTION:2021 West of the Range Australia Day festivities will be held in the grounds behind the Bonalbo Bowling and Recreation Clubhouse starting at 10am. \nThe festivities will include market stalls\, barefoot bowls at the Bowling Club and an ambrose event at the golf course. \nThere will be a free sausage sizzle from 11.30am. \nThe official ceremony including the presentation of the annual Australia Day Awards will kick off at 1pm. \nDr Brian Pezzutti\, will be the official Australia Day guest. \nDr Pezzutti\, who was raised in Bonalbo\, was elected to the NSW Parliament’s Legislative Council in 1988 and served the State for almost 15 years. \nWhile an MLC\, he served as a member of the Australia Army Reserve in the Gulf War (1991)\, Bougainville (1995\, 1998) and East Timor (1999). He was also Brigadier Assistant Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Forces from 2000 to 2004. \nIn line with Australia Day celebrations across the Kyogle Council local government area\, entry to Bonalbo pool will be free on the day. Bonalbo pool will host Council’s inflatable activity centre on the day. \n
