Judging and weighing of the giant pumpkins and watermelons will take place at the northern end of Stratheden Street, Kyogle, on 11 January 2020 between 9.30 am and 10.30am. Winners of the various divisions will receive a cash prize.
People will be able to guess the weight of a giant pumpkin from 3 January 2020. The giant pumpkin will be on show at the Country Store for all to eyeball and try to estimate the weight. This competition will continue until the weighing of the competition pumpkins commences on the 11 January 2020.
A Still Life Art Competition will be run in conjunction with the festival, with entries in this competition to be displayed in the old IGA windows between 1 – 31 January 2020. The winning junior and senior entry will be announced on 11 January about 10.45am.
There will also be a Cooking Competition, with entries on show at the KMI on 11 January from 9am. Contestants are to submit a plate of six pumpkin scones or a closed family pumpkin pie.
Pumpkin Beer – The Sugar Bowl will be offering free tastings of Pumpkin beer on the day from 10am to 12pm.
There will also be novelty activities for the young and old.
Businesses have be asked to decorate their premises to promote the Festival, so come along and enjoy a morning celebrating the humble pumpkin and watermelon.
