Planning is already underway for the next Summerland Giant Pumpkin and Watermelon Festival which will be held on Saturday 21 January 2023.

This one-day, fun-filled, family friendly festival celebrates the growing of giant vegetables and all things that grown on vines. It also showcases the  area’s talented primary producers, and the beauty and abundance of the Kyogle local government area (LGA).

The festival will feature loads of competitions, music and entertainment for all.

The festival program includes: a Still Life Painting Prize with $500 first prize for senior artists and $150 for junior artists; craft and cooking competitions; home gardener contests with prizes and give-aways; a pumpkin and watermelon sculpting contest; watermelon eating competition; classic car displays; and heritage train trips.

Grow and enter a giant pumpkin or watermelon — seeds are available from July/ August from Harley& Co Kyogle, Norco stores and most produce stores in the Northern Rivers area. You can also contact a festival committee member.
