
Kyogle’s Australia Day festivities will be held at the Kyogle Amphitheatre Park and will get underway at 9am with the Kyogle Lions Club serving up a free traditional Aussie morning tea of billy tea and damper.
The official ceremony will start at 10am and will include a Citizenship Ceremony, presentation of Australia Day Awards (Senior Citizen of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Senior Sportsperson of the Year, Junior Sportsperson of the Year and Junior and Senior Student of the Year).
Two local residents will officially become Australian citizens at the Kyogle Australia Day celebrations.
Kyogle’s Australia Day ambassador this year is founder of the ‘You have a Friend’ Charity, Mr John Lee OAM.
The celebrations will wind up with a free barbecue lunch served by the Lions Club.
For those wanting a swim after the Australia Day celebrations, the entry to the Kyogle pool will be free on the day. It is also Kyogle’s turn to host the inflatable activity centre.
