Walking in the Border Ranges National Park
SHORT WALKS
Border Loop
Easy grade, 30 minutes.
A great way to break your journey and get to know the plants and the area.
Helmholtzia Loop
700m easy grade, 30 minutes.
A good introduction to the rainforests of Brindle Creek. Many ferns.
Palm Forest
Easy grade, 1 hour.
Starting at Sheepstation Creek camping area, this track meanders through the palms and rainforests of Sheepstation Creek. A lookout platform provides good views of the waterfall.
Red Cedar Loop
750m easy grade, 30 minutes.
Starting at Brindle Creek picnic area, this track leads to a giant red cedar tree.
Falcorostrom Loop
700m easy grade, 30 minutes.
Leads through ancient Antarctic Beech forests. A great track for rainy days.
HALF DAY WALKS
Brindle Creek Walk
medium grade, 2-3 hours.
Picturesque creek with a variety of rainforests. Links Brindle Creek and Antarctic Beech picnic areas.
Bar Mountain Loop
3km medium grade, 2 hours return.
Starts at the Bar Mountain picnic area and leads to a spectacular view of the western escarpment. The return trip offers good views of Mount Warning.
Rosewood Loop
8km medium grade, 4 hours return.
Starting at Sheepstation Creek, incorporates part of the longer Booyong track. Giant figs, rosewood, soapy box and flooded gums are features of this walk.
Pinnacle Walk
medium grade, 2 hours return.
The most spectacular walk in the park. The track leads out along the narrow spine of the pinnacle, to a 360 degree view of the escarpment and Mount flaming
DAY WALKS
Booyong Walk
11km medium grade, 6 hours.
This track may be walked from either Sheepstation Creek or Forest Top camping areas. A number of side walks may be added. Mountain streams and a diversity of rainforest types are featured.
